Reactions to the tragic bombing just outside an Ariana Grande concert at Britain’s Manchester Arena are still pouring in as the world attempts to come to terms with the horrific incident that left 22 people dead and 119 more injured.

One of those still digesting the event is 2 Chainz, who observed that the bombing was particularly surprising because people usually expect violence at rap concerts as opposed to at the concert of someone like Grande, whose fanbase is considerably younger.

“I think that situation is very unfortunate. When people go to concerts, they feel like it’s a place to get away. You know, for some kids, it’s their first time being away from their parents. And for parents, you hope that they have a good time, get back home safely,” 2 Chainz explained on The View yesterday (May 24).

He continued, “So when you speak of someone like Ariana Grande, you feel like this is a concert where there shouldn’t be that much resistance. It should be safe. Because I know a lot of the content from hip-hop rappers… you just assume, even the venue insurance is just different.”

You can watch the Tity Boi interview, which includes a conversation with Governor of Ohio John Kasich, for yourself below. His newest album, titled Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, is all set to drop on June 16th.
